What is it I believe in?

This past Sunday we as church said together the Apostle's Creed. It was very moving to be able to come together as a Church and say and believe the same words and to re-commit our faith. I believe Church does not have to be complicated. It does not have to be something to dread. Church can be both exciting and creative. Believe me I have spent enough time in Church to know this has not always been the case. I thank God for Churches that are moving forward with the Word and creating environments that allow people to see Jesus as Lord. Here is the Apostle's Creed: (btw the Catholic Church means the Universal Church or the Church at-large)

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;

He descended into hell. [See Calvin]

The third day He arose again from the dead;

He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost;
the holy catholic church;
the communion of saints;
the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting.

Amen.
